The Glen Pavilion, Dunfermline |
Dunfermline Glen Pavilion
This was the shortest distance I had ever had to travel for a gig - a mere 1.8 miles from front door to venue. The Proclaimers’ choice of location within Dunfermline was a bit of an odd one; for Pittencrieff Park (or The Glen) Pavilion boasted just a single relatively small hall, better suited to Antique Fairs and Model Railway exhibitions. Both of which, by coincidence, I had recently attended there.
That being said it proved to be perfectly fit for purpose
this evening, lending proceedings a decidedly relaxed and intimate
atmosphere.
The Boys did not have any new material to promote in
2002, so we were treated to a very similar set list to the one we had seen in
Glenrothes the previous year. If memory
serves, a couple of songs from the Persevere album were dropped to make way for King Of The Road and a rendition of Smokey Robinson’s Get Ready.
But then again, maybe I am just havering.
